La Mia Storia

I was born in the eternal city of Rome, where the days stretch long and the food carries history. Even as a boy, I found myself drawn to the fire of the kitchen. After training at the Chef Academy in Italy, I moved through restaurants across the Peninsula and Europe, learning the rhythm of each stove, each region. I opened my first place in Rome and spent three good years there, working hard, feeding people, feeling proud.

Travel called. I cooked at retreats tucked into the hills of Mexico, served wild nights at Burning Man, brought flavor to long summer days in Canada. Latin America held me. The colors, the smells, the generosity of the table. In 2014, I left Italy behind and followed the salt wind to Panama’s Pacific coast. Five years passed like a slow song. I ran restaurants, a small hotel. I cooked on yachts crossing the canal, barefoot, with the sea close.

In 2019, I came to Mexico for good. Tulum had the heat, the markets, the light I was looking for. I cooked for retreats, for families, for friends. Slowly, from these shared meals, a new idea took shape.

Matteo’s Private Chef Experience is the result. A simple offering done well. A luxury that doesn’t need to speak loudly. A table set with care. A meal tied to memory. What we serve is a journey. One that moves through Mexico, Italy and the life I’ve lived between them.
